'The Sound of Madness' is the début UK album from Florida-based fivesome Shinedown.
Winning over audiences late last year, Shinedown returned to the UK to a completely sold-out tour.

Having been cited by some as an album of overwhelming quality, it's easy to see why when you listen to it.

'The Sound of Madness' is a huge swaggering attack on the ears. From the crescendo of opener 'Devour' through the first single from the record 'Sound of Madness' to the records closer.

'The Sound of Madness' is an audible romp through crunchingly smooth guitars, scratchy vocals and catchy hooks that can not fail to get your foot tapping along. Even slower numbers like 'The Crow and The Butterfly' will have you swaying.

It wouldn't be wrong to note the similarities with bands such as Nickleback, Puddle of Mud and Stained, however Shinedown mix this similarity with an unashamed punch of powerful rock, knocking others to the side.

For those who aren't a fan of bands such as Seether, Nickleback and the like, you should give this record a whirl. For those who are fans then grab this record.
It's a record that will appeal to all with something on there for everyone, Shinedown look set to get even bigger.
